AEP Texas crews make progress restoring electric service to customers after Hurricane Nicholas

Crews continue to make progress restoring electric service to customers after Hurricane Nicholas. At 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, 3,950 customers remain without power down from a peak of approximately 14,250 early Tuesday.

The areas experiencing the highest amounts of customer outages are as follows:

  • Palacios-550
  • Matagorda/Matagorda Island -1,900
  • Bay City and surrounding area-1,800

Estimated Times of Restoration (ETR): AEP Texas crews expect to have restored electric service to at least 95 percent of customers affected using the following updated, projected ETRs:

  • Matagorda/Matagorda Island              Thursday, 5 p.m.
  • Palacios                                              Wednesday, 9 p.m.
  • Bay City                                              Wednesday, 9 p.m.
