March 14, 2023

Jessica Soos has been named Director of Regulatory Services, according to AEP Texas Vice President of Regulatory and Finance Chad Burnett. Soos fills the position left vacant by Gilbert Hughes, now vice president of External Affairs for AEP Texas.

In her new role she will be responsible for leading and implementing the regulatory strategy for AEP Texas.

Soos brings an acute understanding of the utility industry having served as legal counsel for the private energy sector, the Public Utility Commission, and for the State of Texas.

Previously, she served as Counsel for Vistra Corp. where she provided regulatory counsel, oversight, and advice to business units regarding wholesale generation and trading matters in ERCOT, NYISO, ISO-NE, and CAISO.

Soos also previously worked as an Assistant Attorney General for the Utilities team representing the Public Utility Commission in federal and state proceedings. Before that assignment, Soos worked for the Public Utility Commission as an attorney in Oversight & Enforcement, representing Commission staff in enforcement proceedings.

"I am excited to welcome Jessica to AEP Texas," Burnett said. "Jessica brings broad experience working on regulatory matters from diverse perspectives. Her grasp of our industry will help to position AEP Texas for success now and in the future."

Soos holds a B.A. in Philosophy and a B.B.A. in Management Information Systems from the University of Texas. She earned her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law.

Soos will be based in Austin.
