Kentucky Power to Distribute Free Low-Growth Tree Saplings to Customers Saturday, May 1

April 7, 2010

In celebration of Earth and Arbor Day, Kentucky Power will distribute low-growth tree saplings to customers Saturday, May 1. The saplings will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. There is no charge to customers for the saplings. Three tree types will be available: Flowering Dogwoods, Pawpaws and Eastern Redbuds. Supplies are limited, so plan to pick up your saplings early. Customers may not reserve trees or place orders in advance.

Low-growth trees are great for landscaping. They typically have nice shapes and will not grow to interfere with overhead utility wires or structures. Planting trees is an excellent way to improve the environment. They add beauty to the landscape and improve air quality.
