AEP Texas crews significantly reduced the number of customers without power as a result of the winter storm that began in parts of west Texas on Tuesday.
As of 9:30 p.m., approximately 4,700 customers remained without power within the Abilene District, as compared to approximately 14,400 at 10:30 Wednesday morning.

These preliminary estimates may change as restoration efforts continue and are projections for restoration of service to most customers, who can take power. There are a significant number of individual outages that will have to be addressed on a one-to-one basis and will require additional time to restore service.
