Light industrial, manufacturing, and CAD/drafting are some of the programs identified by the Texas Workforce Commission and Workforce Solutions of the Coastal Bend as occupations to address the needs of Aransas County. In response, the AEP Foundation provided a check for $75,000 to support the development of the Del Mar College Workforce Development Center.
AEP Texas External Affairs Manager Patrick S. King presented the check on January 30.
Funds will be used to finalize construction, renovation, and equipment needs for the center.
The Center is set to open by fall 2025, providing high-demand career training to address local and regional workforce needs.
