The 2025 Southwest Electric Distribution Exchange (SWEDE) Conference in Corpus Christi brought together 500 electric utility professionals from across the region to share best practices, tackle emerging challenges, and highlight innovation in the electric distribution industry. This year, AEP Texas not only hosted the event but also played a leading role.

AEP Texas President & COO Judith Talavera delivered opening remarks at the conference. Also representing AEP Texas were Scott Lee, Patrick Rackley, Jeff Helton and Joel Cuellar, members of Continuous Improvement and Operations, who shared the company's strategies in emergency response, wildfire mitigation, innovative relay technologies, and emerging systems.
