AEP Texas brought hometown pride to El Campo High School (ECHS) Career Day when a team of employees, including several linemen who are proud ECHS alumni, spoke to juniors and seniors about careers in the utility industry.

"Great advocate for careers locally with a renowned utility," said External Affairs Manager Vee Strauss, who joined the event alongside Wesley Shoeneberg (DSS), Wendy Arrambide (Admin Asst.), Will Tomlinson (Line Mechanic), Nathaniel (Nate) Chapa (Line Mechanic), Darwin Henriquez (Line Mechanic), and Johnathan Garza (Line Mechanic) — all line mechanics with boots-on-the-ground experience.

Some of the linemen graduated from El Campo High as recently as six years ago and reminded students that their future can start right at home.
