AEP Texas hosted its 2025 Competitive Retailer Relations Workshop, welcoming over 60 representatives from competitive retailers and industry stakeholders. The workshop focused on growth within the service territory, regulatory updates, the resiliency plan, distributed energy resource (DER) trends, and revenue protection initiatives.

Communications Director Omar Lopez guided attendees through the outage mapping tool available on aeptexas.com, showcasing its tangible benefits for customers. Officials from the City of Corpus Christi contributed valuable insights into the inspection and permitting processes.

Jesse Macias, Competitive Retail Relations Manager, emphasized the importance of such workshops in fostering meaningful connections. Meter Services Supervisor Arnold Garza and Meter Electrician Simon Ramirez provided an engaging demonstration of meter testing, highlighting the tools and techniques used in the field.

The workshop's centerpiece was the introduction of two innovative vans recently acquired by AEP Texas. These vans serve as mobile drone launchers and educational platforms at local events and parades. Additionally, the Midtown Corpus Christi line crew offered attendees a bucket truck ride, providing a firsthand look at the work and personal protective equipment (PPE) utilized in the field.
