AEP TEXAS ISSUES ADJUSTED, IMPROVED ETRS

July 10, 2024

AEP Texas continues to make significant progress with the Hurricane Beryl restoration.

A mobile command center in Bay City, staging in the affected areas, and a strategic approach to the overall effort has resulted in updated, earlier Estimated Times of Restoration (ETRs) for several communities.

Many ETRs scheduled for Thursday, July 11, have been changed to Wednesday, July 10. Please see the table below for adjustments. These are ETRs for customers whose homes and physical locations are able to receive power.

Crews will work late into the night Wednesday to restore power to as many customers as possible.

As crews continue restoring electric service, customers are reminded of the following:

  • Please do not approach crews working. Distractions to our crews while they work with high voltage lines and equipment could be disastrous or even deadly.
  • All downed power lines should be considered energized and dangerous. Do not touch anything in contact with the line, such as trees, fences, or puddles of water. Keep children and pets inside during and after the storm. Stay at least ten feet away from any downed power line.
  • If you plan to use a portable generator, always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

Customers can sign up for outage alerts at AEPTexas.com and follow us on social media.
