Abilene District Hosts Statewide Critical Infrastructure Training

20 de octubre de 2025

The AEP Texas Abilene District recently hosted a two-day statewide critical infrastructure training, led by the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) at the Abilene Distribution Center. This important initiative underscores our commitment to ensuring the safety and preparedness of our community.

The training gathered participants from various sectors, including first responders, the Texas Division of Emergency Management, the Department of Homeland Security, local water districts, law enforcement agencies, and school districts.

"Major TEEX programs encompass fire and rescue, infrastructure and safety, law enforcement, economic and workforce development, and homeland security," remarked Luke Roberson, External Affairs Manager.

The focus of this training was on enhancing protection through threat and hazard identification, risk assessment, and stakeholder preparedness. By investing in these training sessions, we are not only preparing ourselves for potential emergencies but also strengthening the entire community's ability to respond effectively to any situation that may arise in our service areas.
