Texas Department of Public Safety troopers visited the Los Fresnos Service Center on Wednesday, Feb. 18, to demonstrate a Level 1 vehicle inspection and share what commercial drivers should check before heading out on the road. 

During the demo, troopers walked employees through the inspection process and explained what they look for when evaluating commercial vehicles. The session provided a firsthand look at the steps drivers can take each day to help prevent hazards and ensure equipment is properly secured before traveling to job sites.

Line Crew Leader Jesus Lopez said "as AEP employees it's not only our job to keep ourselves safe but also the community. We need to stay mindful of the hazards we may present to the public if we don't properly inspect our vehicles and secure all material and equipment."
