AEP Texas celebrated a day of giving by contributing over $34,000 to area nonprofits in the Big Country and Concho Valley communities. San Angelo Gives and Abilene Gives are community-wide events aimed to bring awareness and financial aid to local nonprofits. Both giving day events rely on sponsorships to create incentives for donors and AEP Texas helped 13 nonprofits with its contribution.

San Angelo External Affairs Manager Fred Guerrero said giving back to the community has always been a priority for AEP Texas and he is continually impressed by the community efforts each year.

"What stands out every year is how the community shows up," Guerrero said. "Seeing this year reach a new high of $4.5 million raised, with more than 275 local organizations receiving support, speaks to how much people here care about their neighbors and the work these groups are doing."
