The AEP Texas Meter Revenue Operations (MRO) team energized summer campers with lively demonstrations showing how meters play an essential role in powering their communities. In Corpus Christi, the AEP Texas MRO group participated in the "Very Important Kids" (VIK) Camp, a summer program that offers kids educational activities hosted at the Antonio Garcia Arts & Education Center.

At the camp, MRO employees led engaging, hands-on activities in which kids operated computers with energized meters to practice the same steps technicians use in the field to open or close a meter switch. Arnold Garza, meter services supervisor, said the team brought their work to life through demonstrations that made it feel real to the campers.

Volunteering at the camp is one of many opportunities for AEP Texas to support the communities it serves.
