AEP Texas is supporting students, first responders and local service programs in the Laguna Madre area with a $5,000 donation to the Rotary Club of Port Isabel’s seventh annual Hackers and Slackers “Fun” Golf Tournament, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 21.

The charity tournament raises money for programs that serve the community, including college scholarships for Port Isabel Early College High School students, the Laguna Madre First Responder Fund, food pantries, elementary school book programs, child abuse prevention efforts, animal shelters and disaster assistance. "Supporting this tournament allows us to invest in programs that contribute to a stronger community and brings us closer to them," said AEP Texas External Affairs Manager Hill Cocke.
