UPDATE: Laredo crews restore power to 19,000 customers by noon

AEP Texas Laredo crews have restored electric service to more than 80 percent of customers left without power strong line of storms moved across Texas late Tuesday and early Wednesday. At 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, approximately 4,900 customers remain without power, down from an approximate peak number of 24,000 late Tuesday night.

The outages are clustered as follows:

Laredo District – 3,700
Eagle Pass – 1,000

Initial reports estimate wind gusts of 60 mph in the affected areas.

Any downed power line should be considered live and dangerous. Please stay away and report it by calling (866) 223-8508.
