AEP Texas team members recently visited Wilson Elementary School in Harlingen for Career Day, giving students a firsthand look at the equipment, skills and teamwork behind electric service. Presenters showed common tools and vehicles, explained what it takes to keep the lights on, and talked about safety and daily job responsibilities.

Students were surprised to learn about the physical work and training involved in utility careers, and employees used the visit to encourage interest in skilled trades and future opportunities. Staff across the region regularly take part in school events like this to educate and inspire the next generation.

These outreach efforts reflect AEP Texas’s employee commitment to customers and communities by fostering safety awareness, career exploration and local connection.
