AEP Texas employees brought hands-on safety lessons to Sam Houston Elementary, an event that carried extra meaning for two staff members whose children attended.

At Sam Houston Elementary in La Feria, employees from the San Benito and Pharr service centers taught household electrical safety and demonstrated the tools, personal protective equipment and field equipment crews use. The visit combined practical demonstrations with conversations about teamwork and public service.

For senior Customer Service Account Representative Mindy Rodriguez and San Benito Distribution System Supervisor Samuel Coronado, the day was personal. They said sharing their work and safety practices with their children and classmates reinforced the value of community engagement. Employees said students' curiosity and excitement underscored how AEP Texas supports the safety, reliability and comfort of the communities it serves.
